I’ve been thinking a lot about consistency—the commitment to show up for my life day in, day out, regardless of whether or not I’m seeing massive breakthroughs. Regardless of whether or not I feel like it.
Today, I’m here to remind you—those little, consistent habits that you’ve been working on ARE adding up. They’re building a powerful momentum you can’t always see.
- Drinking water
- Moving your body
- Being grateful for what you do have, even while you’re waiting for the fulfillment of what you most want
- Journaling
- Choosing nourishment over convenience
- Going to therapy
- Developing your own sacred practices that fit your current season
- Healing your gut health
- Following your heart when it’d be easier to throw in the towel and take the path of least resistance
- Prioritizing your rest and sleep
- Choosing JOMO (joy of missing out) over FOMO (fear of missing out)
- Learning to regulate your nervous system
These. All. Matter. A lot.
Personally, I’m learning to recognize when I need to lean into discipline (because this builds self-confidence and momentum), when I need a break (because I’m overdoing it), and when I need to pivot altogether.
What this looks like is regularly assessing what’s working and what isn’t.
Where are my habits bearing good fruit? Where have they become stagnant?
I say this because, while life-giving habits bring amazing results over time, consistently putting your effort into the wrong things doesn’t serve you. So take this as a permission slip to reassess what’s actually working (and then change it up, as needed.)
Trust yourself. You already have the answers inside of you.
Whatever you’re pursuing right now, be it health, relationships, achieving a dream, or finding yourself again after a season of upheaval, I’m here to say it’s so worth it.
Please keep going.
Those baby steps of consistent action are adding up, gaining interest, and building a force field in the invisible world that you can’t fully see yet. (But one day you will, and you’ll be so glad you didn’t quit.)
With you in the journey,
