Hey friend! You may—or may not—have noticed my posts have been a little sporadic lately.
I’ve had a lot going on and have been struggling to juggle ‘life’ and write weekly blog posts for a while now.
Even when I did sit down to write, nothing was coming together. And I made a commitment to myself when I first started writing that I wouldn’t spam you with posts for posts’ sake, just to tick a box.
Still, it didn’t seem right to just ‘stop’ writing and not extend the courtesy of telling you what’s up.
So here’s a quick life update from me.
I’m doing well (overall.) I have a pesky sore shoulder that might be a rotator cuff issue. I’m getting it checked in a couple of weeks. Prayers would be appreciated as it’s painful and I want my full range of motion back.
After nine months of dreaming, planning, and prepping, my hubby and I made the difficult choice to walk away from building our dream house. It was a hard, but good decision. I’m still grieving the loss, though, as it was a big dream of mine.
With the decision not to build, we’ve decided to stay put and renovate our current house, starting with our kitchen/downstairs. I’ve done a house renovation once before. Wasn’t a fan. (Those of you who’ve done renos and love it, send me your tips!)
I’m participating in an uh-mazing master class with Justin and Abi Stumvoll (learn more about them here.) I began last November and am diving even more deeply into areas I’m passionate about: emotional and spiritual health, somatic tools for nervous system regulation, healing trauma, self compassion, and leading people into deeper levels of personal wholeness. I’m experiencing greater healing in my own life as well, which is both wonderful, and at times, messy.
I’ve had the opportunity to travel over the past 2 1/2 months. One trip to Minneapolis for a Web 3/NFT conference in May, one trip to see family in June, and one trip to the beach in July ( I just got back a couple of days ago). Adventure = fuel for my soul.
Other than that, I’m doing part time 1:1 coaching, full time mom life with three kids home for the summer, and trying to stay cool in this wild Texas heat. (Triple digit temps this week = high 30s-low 40s for my Celsius friends.)
So what does this mean for my posts moving forward?
Short answer—I don’t fully know.
I enjoy writing and love sharing insights with other people, especially if I think it can help them. I also know that with kids on break, my schedule looks different.
The current plan?
I’ll post as I’m able over these next couple of months, with the goal of reassessing once school restarts. (In the meantime, a good place to follow me is Instagram.)
I know enough about life to know that seasons shift and what’s helpful at one time might not be useful at another. I’m working out what that looks like for me.
(Perhaps this is a season for you to work out what looks—and works—best for you as well.) Especially if you haven’t had a check in with yourself lately. #permissiongranted
I’d also love to hear from you.
Are weekly posts helpful? Unnecessary? Is there any particular topic you’d like to hear from me about? Money talk? Prophetic stuff? None of the above? (Reach out with suggestions to hello@melissarunacres.com or use the contact form on the website.)
There’s no pressure to respond, but if you have any thoughts or suggestions, I’d really appreciate it. Your feedback is hugely helpful.
Until next time, take care of yourself.
You matter!
